hakanasa
"Hakanasa (儚さ)" is a Japanese word that speaks to the beauty of impermanence
Nothing remains exactly as it is
A shift in light. A passing figure. A place altered by time. Even the moments we try to hold are already leaving
As a documentary fine art photographer, I do not photograph to preserve time. I photograph to acknowledge its passing
Hakanasa is my meditation on that quiet truth, an exploration of presence and absence, memory and forgetting, and the fleeting nature of everyday life
Each photograph is not an attempt to stop time, but a quiet farewell to what will never return in quite the same way
In disappearance, I find beauty
In transience, I see meaning
